Hiawassee, the Towns County seat, sits right on the shore of Lake Chatuge, about 15 miles from our home base in Blairsville — an easy service run for us. The area's biggest draw for RVers is the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, with over 180 campsites along the lake, plus the string of private campgrounds and lakefront lots that fill up for the summer season. Not far behind is the quaint Riverbend Campground that sits along the Hiawassee River and Mountain View Campground where everyone is family.
